Tumble Time! When Do Babies Start Rolling Over?

Watching your baby grow is an amazing journey, and one of the exciting milestones is rolling over! So, when do babies *start* rolling over? Most babies begin to show signs of rolling around 4-6 months old, but every baby develops at their own pace.

Initially, you might see them rocking from side to side, building the necessary muscles. Typically, babies roll from tummy to back first, as it requires less strength. Rolling from back to tummy usually follows a bit later.

How can you encourage this milestone? Provide plenty of tummy time! This helps strengthen their neck and back muscles. Place toys just out of reach to entice them to reach and possibly roll. Remember to always supervise your baby during tummy time and when they're nearing the rolling stage – safety first! If you have concerns about your baby's development, always consult with your pediatrician.
