Curiosity Killed the Cat (…But Not This List!): Human Foods Cats Can Safely Snack On

We all know that pleading look. Your feline friend, eyes wide and hopeful, staring at your plate. You might wonder, "What human foods can cats eat?" While kitty kibble should always be their main meal, some human foods are perfectly safe in small amounts.

Lean proteins like cooked chicken, turkey, and fish (bones removed!) are excellent choices. Scrambled eggs (cooked, of course) offer a protein boost, too. Some cats enjoy steamed green beans or cooked carrots for a bit of fiber. A tiny bite of plain, cooked pumpkin can even help with digestion.

**Important Note:** Always introduce new foods gradually and in small quantities. Avoid giving your cat anything seasoned with salt, garlic, onion, or other spices. And remember, chocolate, grapes, raisins, and onions are toxic to cats, so keep those far away! When in doubt, consult with your veterinarian. Happy (and safe!) snacking!
