Woof! Watch Out! What Can Dogs NOT Eat? (A Guide for Happy, Healthy Pups)

As loving pet parents, we want to share everything with our furry friends. But did you know some human foods are downright toxic to dogs? Knowing what can dogs not eat is crucial for their safety! Chocolate, a tempting treat for us, is a major no-no for dogs. It contains theobromine, which is poisonous to them.

Onions and garlic, in any form (raw, cooked, powdered) can damage a dog's red blood cells, leading to anemia. Grapes and raisins, surprisingly, can cause kidney failure in some dogs. Even small amounts can be dangerous. Avocado contains persin, which is generally safe for dogs in small quantities but can cause digestive upset in larger doses.

Xylitol, an artificial sweetener found in many sugar-free products like gum and candy, is extremely toxic to dogs. It can cause a rapid drop in blood sugar and liver failure. Finally, alcohol is a definite danger, even small amounts can cause significant health problems for dogs. Always double-check ingredients and keep these foods well out of your dog's reach to ensure a long and happy life together!
