Tired of rocking those acrylics? Maybe they're grown out, maybe you're ready for a fresh look, or maybe they're just starting to chip. Whatever the reason, removing acrylic nails at home can seem daunting. But fear not! This guide will help you safely remove your acrylics without causing damage to your natural nails.
**What you'll need:**
* Nail clipper
* Coarse nail file
* 100% Acetone
* Cotton balls
* Aluminum foil
* Cuticle pusher
* Nail buffer
* Cuticle oil
**The Process:**
1. **Clip and File:** Trim the acrylics down as much as possible with clippers. Then, file away the top layer of the acrylic to break the seal.
2. **Acetone Soak:** Soak cotton balls in acetone and place them directly on your nails. Wrap each nail with aluminum foil to hold the cotton in place.
3. **Wait and See:** Allow the acetone to soak for 15-20 minutes. Check a nail to see if the acrylic is softening. If not, re-wrap and wait a bit longer.
4. **Gently Push Off:** Use a cuticle pusher to gently scrape off the softened acrylic. Do NOT force it! If it's still stubborn, repeat the acetone soak.
5. **Buff and Hydrate:** Buff your nails to smooth any remaining residue. Finish with a generous application of cuticle oil to rehydrate your nails.
Enjoy your natural nails!
