Tired of chipped acrylics but dreading the salon visit (and the cost!)? Good news! You can safely remove your acrylic nails at home with a little patience and the right tools. Forget the myths about ripping them off – that's a recipe for damaged nails!
Here's the gist: you'll need acetone (100% pure is best), cotton balls, aluminum foil, a nail file, and cuticle oil. Gently file away the top layer of the acrylic to break the seal. Soak cotton balls in acetone, place them on your nails, and wrap each finger tightly with foil. This keeps the acetone concentrated.
After about 20-30 minutes, check a nail. The acrylic should be softened and lifting. Gently push it off with an orange wood stick. If it's still stubborn, re-wrap and soak for a bit longer. Once all the acrylic is removed, buff your nails, apply cuticle oil generously, and treat your hands to some moisturizer. Your nails will thank you for it!
