Halfway There! Your 24-Week Pregnancy Journey & What's Blooming

Congratulations, mama-to-be! You're officially 24 weeks pregnant, marking a major milestone in your journey. You're likely feeling more connected than ever to your little one as their movements become stronger and more defined. Baby is now about the size of a cantaloupe, weighing in at approximately 1.3 pounds and getting ready for a significant growth spurt.

This week, expect your baby's senses to be developing rapidly. They can now hear you, so keep talking, singing, and reading aloud! Their lungs are also preparing for their first breath, though they're not quite ready for the outside world yet.

As for you, common symptoms at 24 weeks can include back pain, leg cramps, and swelling in your ankles and feet. Stay hydrated, elevate your feet when possible, and practice good posture to minimize discomfort. You might also experience Braxton Hicks contractions, which are practice contractions that can feel like a tightening of your abdomen. Remember to discuss any concerns with your doctor or midwife. You're doing great!
