Unlock the Fun: How to Make a Paper Fortune Teller That Predicts (Kind Of!)

Remember those elementary school days filled with folded paper and whispered fortunes? Let's bring back the nostalgia (and maybe even impress the kids!) by learning how to make a paper fortune teller, also known as a cootie catcher.

It's surprisingly simple! All you need is a square piece of paper, a pen, and a dash of imagination. First, fold the paper in half diagonally, both ways, to create creases. Then, fold each corner into the center point. Flip the paper over and repeat, folding each corner into the center again.

Now, fold the square in half and then in half again, tucking your fingers under the flaps. Time to personalize it! Write colors or numbers on the outside flaps, then write potential fortunes or actions under each number.

To play, have someone choose a color (or number), spell it out (or count it out), and then pick another choice from the flaps displayed. Repeat a few times, and finally, reveal their fate! It's all in good fun, of course. Enjoy making (and using) your paper fortune teller!
